Setting Myself A Task...

As you may have noticed by now, I am not very good at keeping this up to date. In my mind, I am constantly concocting ideas and I have drafted them out in my head. However, life gets in the way and stops me actually taking to the keyboard and rattling off a blog. I know I don't have a million followers and I am appreciative of the few I do have.

So, what is this blog about? Well, if you know me personally, you will know how much of a geek I am. I love Star Trek, Star Wars & Doctor Who (plus a million others). I also love to read. Well, I thought, why not combine them? So, I have. I have set myself the task of reading through the new canon Star Wars novels. Just the novels, mind you. I won't be reading the comics or a majority of  the junior novels. There is only so much I can afford to spend to complete this task.

I must state though Star Wars & Star Wars Expanded Universe; and all logos, characters, artwork, stories, information, names, and other elements associated thereto, are the sole and exclusive property of Lucasfilm Limited. The opinions expressed are solely my own and I set about this goal for my enjoyment and not for profit.

Now I have that off my hairy chest, where do I start? Well, the beginning might be a good idea. I will try to the chronological order of the books as much as possible. I doubt I will. My mind isn't the most ordered of things and it will depend on what tickles my fancy at the time.

So, to begin...Episode 1: The Phantom Menace by Terry Brooks. Wish me luck...I am going to need it.

  1. Some of the comics are superb. I’ve got all the comics and a good number of the novels and junior novels. You need to read the Vader and Dr Aphra comics. They are the best of all the comics so far. Some of the rest are pretty spotty including the main Star Wars comic series.

  2. I have heard good things about the comics. The reviews I have read about Vader and Aphra have been very positive. I pretty much stopped reading the comics when Legacy concluded and before they became part of the 'Legends' line.
I have most of the new canon novels, with a couple of exceptions, and it won't be long before I pick those up. I read a lot of the old canon and ploughed through the New Jedi Order. A bit long winded, but I enjoyed them massively at the time.
